UNDERSTAND THE RESULT
How this calculator works.
Batting average (AVG) equals hits divided by official at-bats. Baseball averages are conventionally shown to three decimal places, such as .300. A team average is calculated using the combined hits and combined at-bats of all included players—not by averaging player averages. Walks, hit-by-pitches, sacrifices, and other plate appearances that are not official at-bats should not be entered as at-bats.
Important: Enter official at-bats rather than total plate appearances. A player with zero at-bats has no defined batting average and is displayed with a dash. Data stays in this browser tab and is not saved or transmitted.
